The Ramones come around again

The Ramones’ third concert in Youngstown and second of 1978 came on July 16, 1978 at the Tomorrow Club. With the first wave of punk rock cresting, the band was settling into a role as a consistent theater draw since the big hit never came. It would remain that was for the next 17 years of the band’s existence.

Opening the show was the former New York Dolls frontman David Johansen and his band which was probably essentially the same as the collapsing New York Dolls version he brought to Youngstown in 1976.
